Brightpearl and QuickBooks do different jobs, so the real question is whether you need both. Brightpearl is an operations system for multichannel merchants and wholesalers: orders, inventory, warehouse, shipping. QuickBooks is the ledger. If you sell through several channels and keep stock in a warehouse, you will usually run Brightpearl for operations and an accounting system beside it. If your orders are few and your stock sits in one place, QuickBooks Enterprise or Online Advanced may be all you need. Brightpearl. Brightpearl calls itself a retail operating system for multichannel merchants and wholesalers, serving e-commerce, direct-to-consumer and wholesale brands. Its site lists inventory and order management with forecasting, a warehouse management system, shipping and fulfillment, CRM tools, an automation engine and analytics, plus connections to channels such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay, BigCommerce, Magento and Walmart. Its integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage Intacct under accounting and payments, as tools you connect to. Brightpearl does not describe itself as replacing your accounting software, and it publishes no prices; you book a demo.
QuickBooks. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise comes in Gold, Platinum and Diamond tiers, up to 30 users on Gold and Platinum and up to 40 on Diamond. Advanced Inventory, with multiple sites, lots, serial numbers, barcode scanning, pick-pack-ship and landed cost, is included in Platinum and Diamond only. QuickBooks Online Advanced includes unlimited tracked classes and locations, against up to 40 combined for Plus, and its inventory page covers quantity updates, low-stock alerts and converting purchase orders to bills. That page does not mention lot or serial tracking or warehouse management.

We print no prices. Brightpearl quotes by demo, and Intuit prices by plan, tier and user count.
Brightpearl’s integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, not QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. If you run Enterprise today, a Brightpearl connection to it is not something we could confirm from Brightpearl’s pages. Ask Brightpearl in writing before you plan on one. If you are choosing now, that single line often decides whether the ledger should be QuickBooks Online.
Put two years side by side. Column A: Brightpearl plus its accounting connection, implementation and a QuickBooks plan. Column B: QuickBooks Enterprise Platinum or Online Advanced plus the apps you would need. Use your own quotes. Our cost calculator helps with the QuickBooks side.
A candle maker sells on its own website and one marketplace, ships from one room, and handles about 400 orders a month. It needs lot numbers for wax batches and a barcode scanner for shipping. QuickBooks Enterprise Platinum covers that, and an operations platform would add cost without solving a problem it has.
A beverage wholesaler and web store sells on four channels from two warehouses, with retail and trade price lists on the same stock. Hand-keyed orders cause oversells every month. It should run an operations platform such as Brightpearl and keep QuickBooks Online as the ledger, with a monthly review of what syncs.
Brightpearl presents itself as a retail operating system for orders, inventory, warehouse and fulfillment. Its integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, Xero and Sage Intacct as accounting tools you connect to, and it does not describe itself as replacing them.
Brightpearl’s integrations page lists QuickBooks Online, not Desktop Enterprise. Confirm in writing with Brightpearl before you plan around a connection.
For a single warehouse and a few channels, often yes. Enterprise Platinum and Diamond include Advanced Inventory with sites, lots, serial numbers, barcode scanning and pick-pack-ship. It is not an order-routing platform across many channels, so high-volume multichannel sellers usually keep an operations system.
QuickBooks Online Advanced includes unlimited classes and locations and works with connectors. Enterprise Platinum or Diamond fits stock-heavy businesses that need lots, serials and scanning. Intuit’s QuickBooks Online Advanced inventory page does not mention lot or serial tracking.
