Why now
DacEasy is end-of-life — what that means for your books
Sage DacEasy had a remarkable run — from DOS-era accounting through decades of small-business use — but Sage retired it, and retirement in accounting software is not cosmetic. No payroll tax-table updates means payroll drifts out of compliance. No support means the next data error, corrupt file or dead hard drive is yours alone. And because DacEasy runs on ageing Windows installs, many businesses are one machine failure away from losing access to their entire financial history. Moving isn’t an upgrade decision any more; it’s a preservation decision.
How data gets out of DacEasy and into QuickBooks
There is no converter to click. A proper DacEasy-to-QuickBooks conversion works from the data itself: we take your DacEasy company files (or, on the oldest installs, complete report sets), extract the chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items, open receivables and payables, and historical activity, and rebuild them in QuickBooks — Online or Desktop, whichever fits your business. Payroll history is archived in readable form and payroll is set up fresh and compliant on the QuickBooks side. The engagement ends with a trial balance, AR and AP reconciled to the cent against your DacEasy reports, so nothing is taken on faith.
If you’re also weighing other destinations, we convert DacEasy businesses to Sage 50’s successors and beyond — but for the overwhelming majority of DacEasy firms, QuickBooks is the natural home: familiar double-entry bones, a huge accountant network, and a conversion process we’ve run end-to-end for years.

DacEasy to QuickBooks FAQs
Is DacEasy still supported?
No — Sage retired DacEasy years ago. There are no updates, no payroll tax tables and no official support, which is why most remaining DacEasy businesses are moving to QuickBooks.
Is there a direct DacEasy-to-QuickBooks import?
No. Intuit has no DacEasy converter. The data has to be extracted from DacEasy and rebuilt in QuickBooks — which is exactly the work we do, reconciled to the cent.
Can you convert if our DacEasy machine is ancient or the install barely runs?
Usually yes. As long as we can get the data files or printable reports off the machine, we can work with it. Tell us what still runs and we’ll advise the safest extraction route.
QuickBooks Online or Desktop — which should we move to?
Depends on your business. Service businesses usually suit QuickBooks Online; inventory-heavy DacEasy users often fit QuickBooks Enterprise better. We’ll recommend one in the free review, and we convert to either.
What does the conversion cost?
A fixed written price after a free review of your DacEasy data — driven by years of history and modules in use (accounting, payroll, order entry). No hourly meter.
Leave DacEasy behind without losing a single year of your books
Tell us which DacEasy modules you use and roughly how many years of history you have — we'll reply with a fixed-price quote within one business day.
